About

At after-grad.com we provide you a glimpse of the life after graduation by asking graduates from a variety of fields to share their experiences

I have added certain features to the site which I hope will increase the usability of the site. I will give you a brief description of each of these features.

1. Popularity Rating/Most Popular Posts
Below each post you can now see a popularity percentage. Also, the sidebar to your right shows the most popular posts. This percentage is calculated on the basis of post views and number of comments. The most popular post is given a 100% rating while the rest are calculated on the basis of this post. The ratings are calculated using a wordpress plugin known as Popularity contest.

2. RSS Feeds(powered by FeedBurner)
RSS is a mechanism used to distribute  content without depending on the browser or email client. What that means is that you don’t have keep visiting the site time and again to look for updates. RSS feeds can be read through RSS readers or aggregators(I prefer Google Reader). More info on RSS feeds can be found here.

Though RSS(Really Simple Syndication) feeds have existed since the conception of after-grad.com, only now I have made them prominent. Besides the home icon, you can see the RSS feed icon. Clicking on it will give you the various options by which you can handle the feed.

3. Subscribe to Updates(also powered by FeedBurner)
Now you can get all the latest posts by mail. In the sidebar, you can see a “Subscribe to Updates” box. All you have to do is enter your email ID there and click on ’subscribe’. You will have the posts delivered right to your inbox.
