Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions about GRE, alongwith some other useful information.
Needless to say, GRE is the first step to pursuing master’s in USA. There are thousands of websites that will help you know the paper pattern, FAQs, sample questions etc. Hence, here I will save my efforts and not go into the details of the exam. Instead, let me share me experiences and the lesser known facts about GRE.
Does my admission depend only on the GRE score?
- GRE score is only one of the many things that a university looks at before admitting/rejecting a student. Even if you don’t have a very good score, try applying, because in American universities, extra curricular activities and academics have equal weightage.
I personally know a student who scored 1150/1600 in GRE and got admitted into the Arizona State University, which is one of the top ranked colleges in US.
- Also, applying at the right time is extremely crucial. A person scoring lesser but applying earlier might get admitted while a person with higher GRE score applying late may not.
Many universities admit on first-come-first-serve basis. So APPLY EARLY.
Can I give GRE more than once if I didn’t score well in the first?
- GRE is to be taken more than once if and only if you think you scored really really low. Marks of the previously taken exam(s) are sent to the university by the ETS. So there is no way of hiding your earlier marks. If you want to do so, then the only way is to cancel the score on the same day, in the case of which, no scores will be reported to any university. However, you will not get to see how you fared either. Mind well, this option is to be used only when you are absolutely sure you totally screwed it up. I have heard people wanting to cancel but later decided against it, and scored 1400+. Miracles do happen.
When should I go to the counselor?
- I made a silly mistake of not doing enough research before I took my exam and ended up sending my scores to all the wrong universities. I am sure everyone knows that you can send GRE scores to 4 universities free of cost. Applying to each university costs around 65-70$. So 4 wrong ones would mean a loss of around 260 $ or 10k INR, which is quite a large sum of money.
- My advice would be to first decide clearly which course you want to pursue, which universities you want to apply to, and then decide 4 universities. Make sure you do all this research before your exam, otherwise you will end up paying more money unnecessarily, like I did. The universities are listed according to the state they are in, so make sure you either know both the codes (university code, department code,both available on the ETS site) or you know which state the university belongs to. Beware of similar universities. There are at least 2 CSUs (California State University) -Make sure you know which you want to apply to.
How do I order additional score reports?
- Almost every university requires you to send them the original GRE score cards.Your scores will be sent for free to four universities you choose to apply to after your GRE. For the others, you need to order extra score reports. They will be directly sent to the university by ETS. Though you can order through fax and phone both (no option of applying online yet) it is best to order through phone.
- While ordering additional score reports, make sure have the code list ready. One silly mistake on your part and they don’t think twice before disconnecting your call and all the information you provided earlier is lost (And the money for the call too. They did that to me). Also, you can only order 8 reports at a time. For more, call back again.
It is important to apply early because it takes 20-25 days for the reports to reach the universities.
- You can also call through your MTNL landline (even if it is not ISD-facility activated) by calling the operator and giving her the ETS number. Make sure you tell her that it is a automated number to which you are calling, otherwise they connect you late and you may get puzzled as it what steps you have to follow for registering. The number is not active for the entire day. You could check by calling the numbers (provided your parents are filthy rich. Otherwise, just checking the timings on the site and converting them to IST will suffice).
Any other things I should know about GRE?
- ETS centers want to give students a feel of USA here from India itself. Hence, they keep the centers really cool. No, not cool as in posters of American babes or attractive blondes waiting to welcome you at the reception or anything. Don’t get excited, I only meant cool air.
The temperature inside the centre is really low. Many people find this very uncomfortable. So please make sure you carry warm clothing on the day of exam.
P.S.The supervisors will take a picture of you before you enter the test room. The photo will be displayed on the PC you are supposed to give your test on. There will be a small webcam on the desk too. Yes, someone will be watching you throughout the test. But don’t worry; no one is going to misuse the video. Be yourself and don’t be conscious. You can still pray and/or scratch your head and /or nose (and whatever that is not/cannot be listed here) as much as you want. Being cool and comfortable is the key to cracking this exam.

hey thanks a lot.. am also placed with TCS n given my GRE too.. in a dilemma now.. in case if i apply with the score,after working for couple of years, will it be considered a bit old by the univs?? i know GRE holds valid for 5yrs but i heard certain univs do not much prefer scores older than 2 yrs?? is that so??
madhupriya
September 23rd, 2007
Madhupriya,congrats for having two best options after graduating. If you can afford to invest a few years in TCS, it will definitely be useful to you. Apart from being able to fund your education, you will have work experience that will help you tremendously to get a job there. Yes,it is true that universities prefer recent scores. So while applying,if your score is more than 3 years old,it would be better if you gave GRE again.

@Madhupriya
Personal experience says that having work experience in the field that a professor requires you to work on will tremendously boost your chances of getting funded. Just any irrelevant work experience does not count at all. For example, if some research work requires a Java programmer and you have worked in a company at graphics designing, then it wont help but work experience in say PHP or C/C++ will definitely contribute to your chances of getting an assistantship.

The kind of scores you are getting in the practice tests are average. You may look at applying to universities ranked from 35 - 60. You can get the university rankings at a lot of places like usnews.com etc. You might look at applying to University of Southern California (Expensive but AWESOME!!!!), SUNY Buffalo, Rochester Institute of Technology and may be IIT Chicago. This is just an advice. You might want to change them as per your scores. Your TOEFL and AWA i.e. analytical writing scores also matter a lot. All the best for your GRE and your applications.

It is really useful information you ve posted. I am giving GRE on 3rd of oct. coming to academics..i ve 78% from reputed collg from North India…
i have participated in may extracuricular…
if i get score less than 1300 can i get in2 a good university…i ve not yet taken toefl date as i am waiting for gre score…do u think that it is too late for applying for universities??
lastly….do u think that the threads that are circulated willl be helpful?

Pavani, let me answer your queries one by one.
Firstly, your experience will certainly be useful to your Master’s provided your experience is in the same area you wish to major in. For example, a 5 years experience in IT sector will be of no use to someone who wants to pursue master’s in EE. If you are currently working on anything even remotely connected to graphics, then your experience will be counted during admission to major related to graphics,otherwise not.
Secondly, 78% is a HUGE figure. Extra curricular activites are another add on to your package.
Thirdly, GRE score is not ‘the only’ but ‘only one of the many’ things that are considered while granting admission. So considering you get 1200+ you have a decent chance of applying to the good universities.
Fourth, it is late if you are planning spring entry. For fall you are right in time.I would advice you to try for Fall ‘08.Give TOEFL as soon as possible.
Lastly, yes, the threads are helpful.Do not expect to get the same questions but you will get an idea of how the pattern of questions changes over time.It will help you keep ‘in touch’ with the latest kind of questions, so that they won’t surprise you on the day of your exam.
After-grad wishes you loads of luck for your future!!

Vasu, your profile is decent and you are certainly eligible to apply to reputed universities. It is great to know that you have started thinking about master’s early on.The things you have to keep in mind while applying to reputed universities are all listed in the post ‘M.S. in US in 9 Easy Steps’ on this site.Regarding the selection of universities, there are thousands of universities that you can apply to. You have to choose according to your inclination,profile,financial status and many other factors.It would be best to seek help of seniors and friends/relatives who are already pursuing the same course.

TOEFL is not a really tough job. You can take it anytime. You will not need a lot of preparations for it. About your GRE, my concern is that its a little too late. You will miss out on deadlines of important colleges. I would suggest you to reconsider the date that you have taken for GRE. I hope this helps.

Congratulations!You have a great profile. Push harder for a GRE score of above 1400 and then sit back and enjoy the show.
Wireless communication can be opted as specialization after selecting to pursue MS in EE as well as MS in Telecom. Its upto you to make a choice among the two.
A few good universities suiting your profile that I can suggest you are University of Texas at Dallas,University of Maryland College Park and UPenn. Keep after-grad updated with your progress. All the best!

November 10th, 2007
@Arjun
This varies from University to University. Some of them might only consider your new score while some of them tend to average it out.
Unless you have a really low score and have very high hopes from the next attempt, do not give the GRE again. It may work against you.

Himanshu N. Patel
November 11th, 2007
@Himanshu
The requirement stating 3.0/4.0 is in terms of GPA which is not the grading system in Mumbai University at least. You aggregate of 54% is surely one thing which you would want to change from your past. It definitely helps having a good aggregate but generally there is no such cut off. They generally assume above 60% as eligible for admission. That does not mean that they discard the rest. You may not get into the best of the universities but yes, you surely can pursue your MS here. I have seen people with worst records get in to decent universities. All the best!!!

Hi
You mentioned that it is better to apply early.How early is good enough? And also,how important are tech papers and projects for getting admitted into a good univ.?
Subhashini
November 11th, 2007
@Subhashini
If you are looking at Fall 08, then it would be best if you finish all your applications by 2nd week of December. Thats the latest. Try to get it done before your semester begins in mid November. Preferably do not send applications after 20th December because its Christmas here and ppl are on leave. So will not even get a reply if your application is received. If you have to send an application after 20th December, it would be better to send it somewhere around 31st or so. Technical papers which are PUBLISHED in either IEEE or at any similar level matter. The other technical paper presentation prizes also matter but they may not significantly change your decision. Same goes with your projects. The magnitude of the project will decide its influence on the decision. I hope this information helps.

You have a good enough profile. Yout experience, if in a relative industry, will be a huge add-on. I’d suggest you to look for Universities ranked from around 10-30. Make sure you back your profile with powerful SOP and LOR’s.
Spring ‘09 will be better than Fall ‘08 for you as you will miss most of the deadlines if you start now.
P.S.Spring is NOT a bad option.

A few colleges will ask you to fill out seperate forms, but in most of the cases, the student is automatically considered for aid/scholarship. If you wish to join as soon as your college gets over then you must apply for Fall ‘08. Check individual university’s website for the deadlines and apply as soon as possible to stand a higher chance of getting admitted. You have a good GRE score and you can get into a good university if you have good academics, strong Statement of Purpose and Letters of Recommendation.

@Sam
There are hardly any Universitites that will have a ‘fixed’ system. One needs to understand the fact that the admission system in US is NOT like India, where no students will be admitted once a quota of ‘60′ or ‘120′ seats is filled up. They will admit all the students who they think are qualified enough. Coming to your question, yes, most definitely the intake for spring is lesser but that is because the number of applicants is also much lesser as compared to Fall.
The deadlines for Spring are around August-September. So make sure you take your TOEFL in or before July.
Write back to us in case you have any more doubts.

First of all let me congratulate you on a good GRE score. If I were you, I would not bother so much about your 10th and 12th scores. Its absolutely fine. I dont think that you even need to send those marksheets but please verify this. You stand a good chance at getting an admit from a lot of good universities. All the best with your applications and hurry up… you dont want to be late in applying.

You stand a good chance at getting an admit from Syracuse. Although I do not guarantee anything because universities tend to behave strange when reviewing applications. But i still feel a good application packet sent to Syracuse will fetch you an admit. All the best.

Hi Manjiri,
I am back again with the query.
As i have asked you earlier that will the job experience in IT company will be somewhat useful in getting admissions in top universities for MS in CS, you mentioned that the experience, if in a relative industry, will be a huge add-on.
Now what the relative industry means?
DO you mean that if i want to do MS in CS then work exp shoul also be in IT company?
sam
November 27th, 2007
@Sam
Thats pretty much what is implied. Anything that you will be pursuing in your MS and have some prior experience is good…
Pratik Shah
November 27th, 2007
@Sam
Let me give you an example for the same. If you wish to pursue MS in CS with a specialiaztion in Graphics, then your experience with anything related to Graphics will be considered as relative. If you have a 5 year experience with a hardware company, then that experience will not help you much. I hope to get the idea.
Keep visiting after-grad for updates.

I got 1190(470-v and 720-q) waiting for AWA and TOEFL(expected by 15th dec(expecting 3/6 and near 100))and i am done with my engg from mumbai university in electronics and telecommunication with 57% agg(with backlogs) and 65.73% & 70% in 7th and 8th sem respectively.I did my project in VLSI(FPGA based) from NPCIL(nuclear power corporation of india).
I have following queries
1. what is the GPA conversion of my aggregate approximately?
2. do i have any chance of getting in a university where placement prospects are good?
3.can u plz suggest some university in networking/telecommunication w.r.t my gre score and GPA as the ranking on different sites are quite confusing?

To answer your questions one after the other…
1. There is no way to convert your aggregate to a GPA here. There is some organization that I have heard of does is for 140$ but its not at all required.
2. You definitely have a chance provided your AWA is not as low as 3.
3. Suggesting universities is a difficult thing but i think Rutgers is good. Dont know about a lot of others though.
4. Work ex always helps… Although it should not majorly influence admission decisions.
I hope it solves all ur questions. All the best with your applications.

@Anirudh
First of all, forget the conversion of your aggregate to GPA. It is required only in countries which have a GPA system. Secondly, Mumbai university is very well recognized here. Do not bother about all that just send in your applications. There is nothing like MS in Telecom here… try Colorado Boulder in the ITP department….

one more thing, there’s a myth among people that the time when you have given ur gre also matters a lot, like if people are not geting good scores during that period then a decent enough score becomes a good one. Is there such a thing?
ameya
December 7th, 2007

I think I have answered your first question already. There is no such time when people do not get good scores. It might just be that the people you know have bad scores. There’s always a 1400 and above around somewhere.

Generally PhD candidates are expected to be very good students. If the GRE score is too low then it can effect the admit. If its anywhere above 1150 or so then i dont think it should be a problem. You would still be best advised to check out departmental websites before applying.

1290 is by no means a low score. Its a pretty decent score. you can aim at the universities ranked 30-60 and get in quite easily. I will be appearing for my GRE exam in the third week of April 08. Can anyone of you guide me for the AWA part? Kindly throw some light on the influence it has on our chances of getting an admit from a good university…
Laxmi
February 11th, 2008
@Laxmi
I have been answering a lot of questions regarding students’ profiles. What I have noticed is that even with a good GRE score, they end up with a bad AWA. This tends to have an effect on the chances of you getting an admit in a good university. Its been really long that I had taken the GRE. I would advise you to look at a few websites which gives tips on tackling the AWA part. All the best!!!

Generally for mumbai university, a first class is good enough. I do not know how does it translate to other universities in India. Your aggregate matters when you go for your visa interview.

Hi,
I intend to apply, preferably , for Jan ‘09 session. I am yet to take my GRE.Could you pls guide me as to till when should I be definitely through with the exam?
Also, my current work ex has been in telecom domain, so does pursuing MS in that domain should be the ideal choice?

Could you pls post some names of websites from where i can get gre material?
aditi

GRE material is available on a lot of websites. I particularly liked a software called wordhacker. Just google GRE material or GRE studying and you should end up with a lot of options.

March 12th, 2008
thanks pratik.
Also could anyone pls give me an idea as to when is it ideal to appear for the exam for both Jan’09 and sept’09 session?
aditi
March 12th, 2008
For the fall i.e. sept 09 session, it is advisable to take the GRE prolly a year before the semester begins. So somewhere uptil sept or oct 08 will be good.
Pratik Shah
March 12th, 2008
@ Aakriti
If u intend to apply for the Jan 09 session, u shud have taken the GRE by now! still its not too late.. try to give it within a month or 1.5 months at the max otherwise u’ll be too late(shortlisting the univs and applications also remain!) To answer your 2nd question, u have exp in Telecom domain, its gr8. But that does not mean Telecom must be ur ideal choice. You might even go for related EE or CS courses in case u r very interested in mathematical/coding stuff. But my personal opinion is you shud go for Telecom. Previous, and most importantly relevant work experience counts a lot esp when applying for internships and full time jobs. All the best to u!

March 18th, 2008
@ Sourabh
1. You are in time for Spring. For best results, send out your scores as soon as possible.
2. If you pursue MS with major in VLSI or someting similar, it will definitely help.
3. Depends on your profile otherwise also, like aggregate and co curricular activities, papers, projects etc. But for GRE scores around 1200-1300 you should aim for universities roughly in the range of around 35-50. Hope that helps!

Hey, i took my GRE in September last year with a score of 750 in Quant and 630 in Verbal. I am considering to start applications now as i will be completing my BE in Comps Sc. in June. Please suggest me to which season i must apply and when, considering the probability of admittance. I must apply for Financial Aid as well, i believe there are deadlines for it. I am considering colleges like USC, ASU, Texas A&M and Austin, GeorgiaTech, SUNY etc. for MS in the same field.

hii pratik..this is ajay frm hyd.iv recently given my gre and hav managed 1410(760 quant + 650 verbal).have a 10th aggregate of 85% and 12th of abt 84 %. my acads at coll stand at 68% with still a year to go..had many certificates at school level..but not many at the college level…
So my question to u is..keeping my profile in mind..what sort of univ can i apply to(MS in comp science. undergraduate in comp science as well).
I have been advised by my seniors at coll to finish preparing my sops and lors by dec. so that i can beat the rush..do u think it is a good strategy..keeping my low scores at coll in mind??

another thing i wanted to get clarified was the way the univ scrutinize ur acads..i belong to a univ that is stingy to the core wen it comes to awarding marks..whereas a deemed univ somewhere in south.is very liberal at awarding marks..so how the hell do the admission officers differentiate b/w such univ and their respective students?? do i stand to lose in this case??

hello,
i m in TE(E&TC)n placed in TCS i wan to ask,
1. can i do MS in CS/IT field…..?
2. if not,will d work exp of tcs b helpful as it is basically IT company…..?
3. i m comfortable with quant sect but hav to do wordlist n all that stuff…… so what do u think is ideal time 4 me 2 giv gre?
MANISH
March 26th, 2008
@ Manish
First, congrats for your placement. Coming to the questions,
1. Yes, you can do MS in IT. You will have to take some bridge courses to build up your undergrad basics in IT.
2. Again, your experience may help because TCS is basically an IT company, but you may pursue MS without any experience too. However, if you have the option of gaining experience then I would suggest you take it up as it will be very beneficial for gaining jobs later on.
3. Depends when you want to apply. For Fall, finish your applications by Nov-Dec and for Spring, the deadlines are usually around August-September.
Manjiri Keskar
March 27th, 2008
@ Sharad
That is not true, to the best of my knowledge. You do not have to apply seperately for aid. Sometimes, you are given the option of applying for aid with the application of admission itself. Most of the times, you are automatically considered for aid when you apply.

Your profile is good. You can aim at the better ranked universities. You have been advised correctly, applying early will always give you an edge over the others. Regarding your last question, the universities here have all the information about how a particular university grades its students and they decide the weightage of your academics accordingly. You will not stand to lose in this case. Wish you luck!

Hi again…
I appeared for my GRE yesterday …scored 1340. My B.Tech branch was computer engg. and aggregrate was around 69.25%(DCE, Delhi University) and i want to pursue my higher studies in US in the same field.
I would be applying for the falls of 2009. By that time I would have gained 3 yrs of work experience in telecom domain(software). Though my profile looks pretty fair but there is a glitch. I scored abysmally low in one of the semesters which pulled down my average %age below 70%. What I want to know that is it fine to apply with this profile in the top-20 universities or say even top-50 universities? What are my chances of getting an admit with a acholarship or RA/TA with this not-so-good looking aggregrate and a fair score in GRE?
Laxmi
April 22nd, 2008
@Laxmi
You are being really modest by saying that your profile is not so good. I suggest that you can apply to the top 30 and easily get an admit. As far as scholarship/RA/TA goes, I cannot really say anything. It varies from person to person and school to school. You just have to be at the right place at the right time.
Pratik
April 23rd, 2008
thanks for replying …
Actually I am keen to get a scholarship for MS. This was the primary reason for why i waited for 3 yrs after my graduation to apply.
I have also heard about a pre-apping process for getting your profile evaluated by the university before making an actual application. Can you throw some light?
And do u ppl hv any idea about USEFI?? Do they provide any help during apping?
Laxmi
April 23rd, 2008
@Laxmi
Considering your profile, you stand a decent chance of getting funded. As I said before, it depends on the school as to how many scholarships they give away. I cannot tell you a 100% that you will get funded but you definitely have a chance.
USEFI is a pretty good option and they do not charge you a lot as well. Also, you can specify to your counsellor that funding is an important criteria for you and thus apply to suitable schools.
Pratik

You stand a decent chance of getting into a good university. I know of ppl with a similar score studying in top 50 universities. Your 2 years of work experience will definitely be a big help.

May 3rd, 2008
Hi,
I’m a 3rd year(just entered) student of JNTU doing EEE. I’m planning to take GRE in october.
You mentioned earlier that you could send your score to 4 universities for free.
This may sound like a stupid question but what happens afterwards. How does the university contact you?
Harsha
May 21st, 2008
Also how is JNTU rated in US universities. My aggregate is about 72%. Is it sufficient for applying to higher end universities?
Harsha
May 21st, 2008
@Harsha The universities will not contact you till they receive your application for admission which is not just the GRE score. Some universities might send you a letter stating that they have received your GRE score and you must go ahead and fill out admission application. You need not worry if they do not send you any confirmation.
Pratik Shah
May 22nd, 2008
Thank you!
Anoher question the application for admission costs around 75$ right? Are the GRE sending score and application fees different?
Harsha
May 23rd, 2008
@Harsha
The cost of the application is what the university asks from you for processing you application. You have to send your TOEFL and GRE scores separately. This has to be paid to ETS. The procedure for this is available on the ETS website. All the best with your applications.

Hello,
I have a problem with my GRE. I scheduled it on june 2nd but due to personal reasons i am unable to attend it.
It’s too late to reschedule or cancel. I’m prepared to register again but will it count that i’ve taken GRE twice?
Vimal
May 26th, 2008
@Vimal
There will be no score registered for you for this test. Just go ahead and take another date. The amount that you have paid will not be returned to you. Supposedly they have changed some rules. I would suggest you call them and confirm. The website is www.ets.org

You told me that AWA is less and give gre once again.
But If I score good marks in TOEFL, will that do?
Can I get admission in one of first 50 ranked universities?

Is there any cut-off of each section

There is nothing like a minimum TOEFL score. Although, most universities have their preferences mentioned on their website. It would be advisable to check these numbers on university websites.

Pratik & Manjari,
I took up GRE on May 20 and got a 1180( Q-680 V-500 A-4.0) I am in my final year of engg in IT and my aggregate is 81%. I’m taking up TOEFL by the end of this month. How good are my chances for applying for a MS in CS/CIS? I’m looking at universities around Pennsylvania,New York and the nearby states for personal reasons.
Ramya
June 12th, 2008
@Ramya
Your Q-680 might be a little bit of a concern for the universities. Although your score is not very high, I have seen people with lower scores getting into better universities. Make sure that you are not very ambitious when you are applying to universities. Apply to universities which match your profile.

Umm.. I’ve read through all the posts and I still have a few doubts. I’m in my 4th year of B.Tech and my GRE’s on the 4th of September. My branch is Telematics. I want to aplly for the course Financial Engineering. My problem is that I have an average percentage in my B.Tech- just around 66% But my 10th and 12th grades are very good, I have a lot of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and I’m hoping to get good GRE and TOEFL scores. Most unis that I’m thinking of applying to say that work exp is not required (but recommended) I’m already placed with Infosys. What should I do? If my GRE score is good (1400+) should I apply seriously? Or keep the score and get some work exp first?
Yashu
August 25th, 2008
@Varsha
You have a very strong profile. Go ahead and apply to the universities that you have listed here. The only problem you are most likely to face is your AWA score. You can talk to the universities in case they base their decisions on AWA. All the best!!!
Pratik Shah
August 26th, 2008

Infosys is not really giving you work ex related to Financial Engineering. your scores are fine. Provided you get the score that you are expecting in GRE, you are in a good position to apply.

I want to pursue MS in computer science from one of the top 70 universities in USA. I’ve done one major and two minor projects during my engineering.
Will these certifications, IT work ex and 1300-1400+ GRE score guarantee me an admit from top 100 US universities for MS in CS???
Please help me in this regard. I eagerly await your reply.
Thank you!

@ Shashank
Practice more tests and get more familiar with the words. Most of us lose our points in the verbal section. Good luck!
@ Pulkit
There are many students who were able to switch the line and be successful in it too. Although I don’t know much about Civil Engineering Universities, I would suggest you use networking sites to find some seniors who can help you. I cannot stress enough on the fact that they are the best people to guide you.
@ CS and EE people
I think Pratik and Dhawal are in a better position to help you. Good luck guys!

Hi,
I am just done with my gre 1220 (v: 440 and q: 780). I will be writing my toefl soon.
I have 2 years of work exp in software product development.
Distinction in National Cyber Olympiad.
I am planning to take up masters in computer sc. in fall 2010.
I am looking at universities around the NE region.
I would like to know if there are more specialized courses related to computer science.
Also, which universities are good for computer science?
I have shortlisted a few universities like Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia U, New Jersey Institute of Tech. What are my chances realistically to make it through?

@ Monty
You have a good profile but unfortunately the GRE score seems a little low. Defintely give it a try but also do not forget to apply to “safe” universities to ensure that you make it here! Good luck!
@ Satish Robin
UPenn, UMCP and UTD I believe are the good universities for telecom.
